Nancy Weber is president of NYWICI for the 2012-2013 year and EVP and chief marketing officer at the Meredith Corporation, publisher of Ladies' Home Journal, Better Homes and Gardens, Parents, Padres, More and many other titles. She grew up outside Detroit and has been in New York for nearly 30 years.
Other NYWICI posts "I served as development chair for the Matrix Awards and as VP of Strategic Planning on NYWICI's Board of Directors. I also advised the Sponsorship Committee, worked with all the committees pursuing sponsors and helped with the corporate-membership strategy."
For members "The priority is ensuring that we continue to offer members new ideas and insights into how they can grow professionally, regardless of their level or experience, and provide networking opportunities. We also want to increase the number of corporate members."
Self-assessing "I'm very focused on results and finding ways to get the best people involved in achieving those goals. The more opportunity you give people to succeed, the greater the results. I am also really big on having fun, whether it's on the job or in your personal life."
Sleepless "I am probably awake more hours than most people. My mind is constantly thinking about new ideas to help my company grow, so you would be surprised at how easy it is to reach me at the oddest hours, especially on Words With Friends." [Alec Baldwin, take note!]
Off the clock, really "I enjoy yoga, pilates, playing golf, trying new restaurants and walking with my favorite male friend, Maxx, a 16-year-old yellow lab."
Nancy's nirvana "Colorado. I love the mountains."
Day to re-live "My parents' 50th anniversary."
Don't call her Madame President, but "it will be a wonderful day when we can use Madame President to address the leader of our great country."
