SPOTLIGHT: TIMI LEWIS

Principal, Lewis Media Company

Timi Lewis is founder and principal of Lewis Media Company, which advises small businesses and nonprofits on public relations, marketing, business development, and digital and social media strategy.

Previously, Timi led communications for The Governance Lab, a think tank based at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and served as vice president of marketing and communications for Housing Partnership Network, a nonprofit business collaborative. She also worked as an associate with Brunswick Group LLP, a global strategic communications consultancy, and was director of corporate affairs and strategic planning for NYC Media, the official television, radio and digital network of the City of New York. Ahead of these roles, Timi was a project manager with the corporate social responsibility practice at Ernst & Young, and an international trade consultant with Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen in New York City, and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

In addition, Timi serves as vice president and co-chair of the Sponsorship Committee for New York Women in Communications, a multi-disciplinary professional association of communicators. Previously, Timi co-chaired NYWICI’s Programming and Strategic Partnership committees. She is also member of the Housing Association of Nonprofit Developers, where she earlier sat on the Braintrust advisory board.

Timi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy from Duke University, and a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
