NEW YORK WOMEN IN COMMUNICATIONS ANNOUNCES 2023 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

Recipients to be recognized at the 2023 Matrix Awards in New York City on September 20, 2023

NEW YORK, NY (June 20, 2023)—New York Women in Communications (NYWICI), the premier female communications professional organization, awarded over $53,000 in scholarships to eleven college women to support their education and further their communications career journeys. Since the program’s inception in 1998, NYWICI has awarded more than two million dollars in scholarship support to nearly 400 women across the Tri-State area and beyond.

Committed to inclusion and diversity, scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence, need, and a demonstrated commitment to the field of communications. Past NYWICI Scholarship winners have gone on to secure notable positions at organizations including NBC, ABC News, IBM and Spotify, as well as The White House.

This year’s scholarships, ranking in an amount from $2,000 to $10,000, have been awarded to:

  • The Beth-Ellen Keyes Memorial Scholarship: Laura Uzar, University of Connecticut
  • The Kaplow Scholarship: Aaliyah Simone Kellogg, New York University
  • The Interpublic Group (IPG) Scholarship: Joyce Chen, Temple University
  • The Interpublic Group (IPG) Scholarship: Amanda Dait, Pennsylvania State University
  • The Beverly Wettenstein Scholarship for Women’s Studies: Talia Barrington, New York University
  • The NYWICI Past Presidents’ Scholarship: Brianna Boone, Temple University
  • The Esperanza Scholarship: Gabriela Henriquez Stoikow, Columbia Journalism School
  • The Alumna Scholarship: Molly Jacob, Sacred Heart University
  • The Ann Liguori Foundation Sports Media Scholarship: Laine Dubin, Quinnipiac University
  • The Judy Corman Memorial Scholarship: Kadija Abdoulaye, Baruch College
  • The Ellen Levine Memorial Scholarship: Lilli Iannella, Syracuse University
