| There are certain nights that stay with you long after the lights dim and the final applause fades. This year’s Matrix Awards was one of those nights.
From the moment our scholarship recipients, rising stars, executives, entrepreneurs, creatives and industry leaders walked into the room, there was an undeniable energy — one rooted in inspiration, connection and possibility. You could feel it in the conversations happening at the tables, in the standing ovations for our honorees, and in the countless moments of mentorship and encouragement shared throughout the evening.
What makes the Matrix Awards so powerful are the inspirational stories and invaluable advice shared by our honorees, paired with the excitement of watching our scholarship recipients experience their first true NYWICI “pinch me” moment. But what makes Matrix truly special is what happens beyond the event itself.
It’s the student who leaves believing her dream career is truly within reach.
It’s the executive reconnecting with purpose and community.
It’s the relationships sparked over drinks, dinner, or after a speech that evolve into mentorships, partnerships, job opportunities and lifelong friendships.
Now comes the important part: capitalizing on that momentum and continuing to create meaningful opportunities for our community throughout the summer and into the fall.
At NYWICI, we remain deeply committed to opening doors, building bridges and ensuring our members have access to the conversations, leaders and experiences that inspire growth at every stage of their careers.
From networking opportunities and mentorship moments to our upcoming Connector’s Circle conversation June 17th featuring Maryam Banikarim — host of The Messy Parts Podcast and Chair of the WSJ Institute’s CMO Council — we strive to provide the access, inspiration and opportunities that empower women to succeed at the highest levels.
And in the spirit of keeping the Matrix momentum alive, here’s your June challenge:
Write down one thing you want to achieve in your career over the next six months. Then think about the incredible women you’ve met through NYWICI — at the Matrix Awards, our Beverly Wettenstein event, mentorship programs or Connector’s Circle conversations — and reach out to the leader who might have the insight, encouragement or guidance to help you get there.
Sometimes one conversation, one introduction or one act of support can change everything.
That’s the power of this community.
That’s the power of connection.
And that’s the Butterfly Effect in action.
Thank you for being part of NYWICI’s mission and momentum. The best is still yet to come! |
