Alexandra C. Trower is Executive Vice President, Global Communications at The Estée Lauder Companies, the world’s leading prestige beauty company with more than 30 brands including Estée Lauder, Clinique, M•A•C, La Mer, Jo Malone London and Too Faced.
She is an Executive Officer of the Company, serves on the Executive Leadership Team, is a founding member of the Inclusion and Diversity Committee and is an Executive Co-Sponsor of the Company’s LGBTQA employee resource group. She assumed her current role in 2008, and today oversees corporate, social, crisis, Lauder family and philanthropic communications, including The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary and whose mission is to end breast cancer in our lifetime.
Ms. Trower has more than 25 years of professional experience, with diverse expertise in financial, corporate, consumer and crisis communications. Before joining The Estée Lauder Companies, Ms. Trower was Senior Vice President, Media Relations, for Bank of America, where she served as a senior communications advisor throughout the company’s tremendous growth period, which included the Fleet, U.S. Trust and Countrywide Financial acquisitions prior to the financial crisis of 2008.
From 1997 to 2003, Ms. Trower was a Managing Director at JPMorgan Chase, where she was responsible for Corporate Communications at JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management, which included its private banking, institutional asset management and mutual fund business. Prior to that role, she spent 10 years at Chancellor LGT Asset Management, now part of Invesco, serving in a number of roles, including Vice President of Corporate Communications.
Mentoring, leading and cultivating talented women is her passion and was borne out of her experience as a student at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia, one of the country’s leading women’s universities. In addition to sponsoring dozens of interns, she is a member of the Hollins University Board of Trustees and the Board’s Executive Committee. In 2011, she was the keynote commencement speaker and was awarded an honorary doctorate.
Ms. Trower also serves as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF), which supports female journalists worldwide who risk their lives to cover the news that might not otherwise be reported. In 2014, she received the IWMF’s Corporate Leadership Award in recognition of her more than 15 years of service and fundraising. In addition, she is a member of the Board of The Estée Lauder Companies Charitable Foundation and the Secular Society, both of which are committed to supporting girls and women with a specific focus on education.
In 2018, Ms. Trower became a trustee of the American Funds family, one of the world’s largest and most respected mutual fund families.
Ms. Trower and her husband, Jon Lindsey, live in New York City, and they have a wonderful daughter, Grace.
