Associate Director, APCO Worldwide

Camille Villafañe is an Associate Director in APCO Worldwide’s New York office. She focuses on international policy developments and issues management, including in the intergovernmental sector. While at APCO, she has advised various organizations in the technology, financial, and consumer goods industries with reputational challenges, complex geopolitical issues, ESG and social impact. She is the founder and co-chair of the LatinAPCO Employee Resource Group and was recognized as Business Insider’s Top Rising Stars in Public Relations in 2022.

What inspired you to join NYWICI?

NYWICI’s mission is to empower women in the communications field at every career stage to reach their full potential and navigate the ever-changing landscape of communications. I have been lucky to have wonderful mentors that have given me great advice and championed my ideas no matter how ambitious. It’s important to continue to pass on those learnings and pay it forward to the future generation of female communication leaders.

What piece of career advice do you live by?

Accept that plans change and embrace the beauty of new opportunities.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I have a very good ear for learning new languages.

What’s the best thing you’ve watched/ listened to/ or read recently?

I recently watched the Netflix show The Diplomat. Can’t wait for the next season to come out.
