Why Liz does what she does… “I love solving problems. Hearing out client challenges and figuring out what is the best course of action for their needs, given the intricacies of their individual brands, is what drives me daily.”
Drawn to NYWICI… “What struck me the first time I attended an event, was the vibrancy of the women. I’ve been a member of a number of organizations but NYWICI was by far the most approachable. That coupled with the fact that these women are doers — it’s a powerful combination.”
My favorite social media platform… “While I use Facebook the most, it’s really Instagram I love to delve into — particularly on home décor, art and sculpture.”
Communications industry’s biggest challenge… “I think the volume and frequency of content needed is a growing challenge. As platforms proliferate, the pressures to showcase your expertise in new and interesting ways rely heavily on hiring the right creative talent — whether internal or external. The other issue arising from this need is the decision of where your company should play. All platforms may not be right for every brand. You need strategic thinkers to leverage your expertise on the right distribution platform for the right audience.”
At the top of my trend watching list is… “The integration of content and commerce. This has played out in fits and starts in the last few years, but there are some amazing new technologies that are true gamechangers and capture conversion right at the moment of desire.”
Off the clock, really… “I enjoy exploring new neighborhoods, particularly before they gentrify. The mom and pop shops are what gives each city its character, and I adore the older architecture with its beautiful facades and moldings.”
Liz’s nirvana… “Flea markets are my passion. I don’t love the nicely curated ones; instead, I prefer the ones where the tables are messy and crowded. It definitely heightens the feeling of discovery.”
Did you know… “I have a rare superpower of being able to tell if a room is warm or cold before enter it even with the door closed. I still need to find a cool name to match this gift.”
Day to relive… “I was in Cappadocia, Turkey, where some of Star Wars was filmed, and I needed to get back to the hotel after spending some time at a local flea market. The vendor I just purchased something from offered to lead us on a shortcut back. He didn’t mention it required walking over mountains and scooting past some very narrow passageways. I was frightened to death at the heights but saw some of the most glorious views I’ve seen to this day.”
Words to live by… “’Do one thing every day that scares you.’ Pushing yourself can bring on significant growth in anything you do.”
