Lesley Watson, Director, Training & Learning Systems at Interpublic Group’s Constituency Management Group, is a solution-oriented, highly adaptable Learning and Development professional specializing in writing skills, creativity, virtual training, public speaking and learning management system administration.
Lesley utilizes her distinctive background and training as an opera singer to prepare others for their big stage. She created a unique module for CMG’s presentation skills course called Breathing for Public Speakers. It is a quick start method for business professionals to use their bodies like performers when they present. The module includes warming-up, managing nerves, commanding presence in the room, and breathing to think and eliminate filler words. Breathing for Public Speakers is now a featured module in all Presenting Your Best sessions.
Lesley is well-versed in a number of unique webinar training modules including: Get SMART: How to write SMART goals, Essentials of Management, Time Management, and Writing Effective Emails. She also designed a half-day course, Basic Business Writing, which challenges marketing professionals to master the mechanics of language and think creatively so that their words get action right off the page.
Lesley has been instrumental in configuring and launching CMG’s learning management system. The system is a secure framework for CMG’s 13 particular brands and offers a proprietary, blended-learning approach through classroom, webinar and self-directed sessions; and offers additional resources in recommended books, articles, videos and aps. Additionally, Lesley was part of a two-person team that created, implemented and launched Weber Shandwick’s new digital global onboarding platform.
With an undergraduate degree in Music and Journalism and a Master’s Degree in Music Performance & Pedagogy, Lesley brings with her a wealth of adult learning experience.
