SPOTLIGHT: MEAGHAN O’ROURKE
Digital Content Senior Manager at Wolters Kluwer
Written by Sophia Kenny

Meaghan O’Rourke has never been afraid to follow her curiosity. It’s taken her through arts nonprofits, healthcare, sales, and now corporate tech, and along the way, she’s built a career centered on one thing she loves most: making complex ideas resonate. Today, as the Digital Content Senior Manager at Wolters Kluwer, she leads social strategy for a global B2B technology powerhouse serving markets across health, tax, legal and regulatory, financial compliance, corporate performance, and ESG.
Her path taught her early how powerful, precise, and empathetic communication can be, whether you’re explaining a clinical concept, promoting a symphony performance, or framing a compliance product in a way that feels relevant. In every role, she found herself drawn to messaging, writing, campaign-building, and understanding how brands stand out. Returning to school for integrated marketing communications gave her the framework to turn that interest into a focused career.
One lesson has stayed constant across every industry: you can’t communicate well if you don’t know exactly who you’re talking to. On organic social, especially, where you only get a few seconds of someone’s attention, she believes a smart strategy starts with deep audience understanding. Clear brand guidelines and thoughtful messaging frameworks help her make highly technical topics feel human and consistent. When she steps into a new vertical, she leans on her colleagues to ensure accuracy and alignment. “Did I translate this right?” is a question she asks often. Collaboration, to her, is non-negotiable.
What truly energizes Meaghan is problem-solving. She loves spotting what isn’t working, mapping the puzzle pieces, and building a more innovative, more effective way forward. To her, success isn’t just about getting content out the door; it’s about creating communication that lands, connects, and actually moves people.
That same spirit drove her work with Next Level You, the NYWICI webinar series she hosted. Designed to help members level up—whether that means earning a stronger review, stepping into leadership, sharpening skills, or simply feeling more confident—the series has become a go-to resource for women navigating their careers. Meaghan is especially proud of the committee behind it: a team of brilliant, generous women committed to lifting others. And even as the series wraps, she believes programs that build both hard and soft skills are essential in today’s unpredictable job market.
She leaves us with a reminder that feels grounding, human, and unmistakably her:
Keep learning. Be patient with yourself. And don’t be afraid to revisit a conversation until everyone truly understands. Communication isn’t about speed; it’s about clarity. Sometimes it takes a few rounds to get it right, and that’s completely okay.
