Beth Feldman on Embracing Her Childhood Passion

In the latest episode of WomenHeard: Changemakers, host Georgia Galanoudis speaks with Beth Feldman, VP of Communications for The CW Network, SVP of Communications at Nexstar Media Inc./Networks, and incoming 2026 President of NYWICI. Feldman built her career launching award-winning television shows and her innovative PR and media campaigns have helped shape modern storytelling across platforms. In this discussion, Feldman talks about her career journey, the importance of authenticity, and how staying true to your passions can lead to meaningful success. Here are some highlights to look forward to.

A PASSION DISCOVERED EARLY

By the age of three, Feldman knew performing was her passion. She sang song parodies and joined neighborhood beauty pageants, which led her to perform throughout school. She became the first female trumpet player at her elementary school and later won the Best Female Performer trophy in a Brooklyn high school competition. Eventually, Feldman realized her curiosity and fearlessness was driving her to try new things.

Though her career now isn’t in performance, she knew she wanted to stay close to it, finding her path by exploring new ideas and crafting stories. Her journey shows that if you’re passionate about something, make space for it in all you do. “Even if you find the job that’s not the exact job, and you have a childhood passion for what you love to do, always find a place for that,” she says.

A KID IN A CANDY SHOP

Feldman helped launch many iconic shows, including CSI, The Amazing Race, and Everybody Loves Raymond. From the very first day of The Amazing Race, she collaborated with the team to devise unique marketing strategies for the series. Though she doubted CSI’s success, its record-breaking debut allowed them to capitalize on the moment and led to exciting campaigns like a crime scene exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. And by Everybody Loves Raymond, she felt “like a kid in a candy shop,” she says, all her years of experience leading to her ideas coming to life.

THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT

As the incoming 2026 NYWICI president, Feldman embraces the theme of the butterfly effect. Looking back, she sees her career as the result of countless small and large choices that lead her to where she is today. The guidance and wisdom from the women and mentors in her life encourage her to try new things and pursue her goals fearlessly. Even the NYWICI board, she says, has at its heart dynamic women who have so much wisdom to offer. Once you’re in the NYWICI sisterhood, she adds, you’re in it forever.

During Feldman’s presidency, she plans to focus on mentorship, knowing that the advice and support she receives are essential in building connections and seizing new opportunities.

The work you put in and the connections you build,” she says, “so often are what navigate you to the next thing.”
