DDB Global President & CEO Wendy Clark is on a mission to elevate the ad industry, to fuel diversity and inclusion, to (re)prove that creativity is the most powerful force in business, to build a culture that lasts well beyond her.

Wendy Clark is presenting the 2018 Matrix Award to Kim Kelleher.

In her first year as CEO, Wendy launched DDB Flex, the bespoke, cross-agency model customized for DDB/NA’s clients’ businesses, hired the agency’s first-ever CCO, and helped land 53 new business wins, including the U.S. McDonald’s business, the biggest win of the last decade for DDB/NA, which required launching “We Are Unlimited,” the new agency servicing the business.

Wendy’s unwavering focus on DDB/NA’s culture and her dedication to diversity and inclusion has resulted in driving action, including the launch of the “Talent Has No Gender” program, and DDB being named the first and only agency to seek certification with The EDGE, a third-party company certifying gender-equal practices. Also under her leadership, DDB all NA associates went through Unconscious Bias training in 2016.

Before joining DDB Wendy worked client side at Coca-Cola North America, where she led the Sparkling Category Business Unit as well as the Strategic Marketing organization, including Brand Strategy and Innovation; Media Connections, Investments and Assets; Content and Design. Prior to joining The Coca-Cola Company, Wendy was Senior Vice President, Advertising for AT&T, the world’s largest telecommunications company, where she was at the helm of the company’s most ambitious and aggressive re-branding and advertising campaign in its history.

Wendy is a sought after speaker with a notable presence at advertising and business conferences. In 2016, she took the stage at 4A’s Transformation, Cannes, The Digiday Agency Summit and Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit. Wendy has also been quoted in multiple publications such as Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Ad Age. 

In 2016, Ad Age named Wendy an “Executive to Watch” and she was also honored at the DoSomething.org gala. She will be recognized by her peers in January 2017 at the annual “She Runs It” Roast. Among others, Wendy was recognized in 2014 by New York Women in Communications with the coveted Matrix award. Fast Company cited Wendy as the Brand Refresher on its 2011 top ten list of Innovative Business Disruptors and the Advertising Women of New York recognized Wendy as their 2011 Advertising Woman of the Year.

Wendy is an advisory board member for IDEO.org, and a board director for the Ad Council and the American Advertising Federation. She also sits on the board for Facebook and David Yurman.
