NYWICI’s Newest Mentorship Program:
Monthly Office Hours
Program Overview:
NYWICI is introducing a refreshed Mentorship Program designed to enhance professional development and foster stronger relationships within the community. The core idea is to create regular, accessible opportunities for members to connect directly with NYWICI board leadership. Each month, selected board members will host “Office Hours”—dedicated time slots where members can engage in one-on-one or small-group conversations. These sessions are intended to be safe spaces for asking questions, seeking career guidance, and discussing current industry topics, ensuring that mentorship is ongoing and responsive to members’ needs.

			How It Works
- Monthly Rotation:
Each board member takes a turn as the mentor host for a given month. This rotation ensures that members are exposed to a variety of perspectives and areas of expertise throughout the year.
- Office Hours Format:
- Duration: Each mentor host commits 2–3 hours per month, which can be divided into several shorter sessions to accommodate different schedules and maximize participation.
- Meeting Modes: Sessions are offered both virtually and in-person, making the program accessible to all members regardless of location or preference.

- Registration Process:
- Members sign up for office hours using a shared registration link, streamlining the process and ensuring fairness.
- Time slots are available in 15–30-minute increments, allowing for focused, meaningful conversations while enabling multiple members to participate each month.

- Session Topics:
- Conversations can cover a wide range of subjects, including career advice, leadership development, strategies for engaging with the NYWICI chapter, and current trends in the communications industry.
- There is also an open Q&A format, so members can bring their unique questions or challenges for personalized guidance.
- The specific format (virtual or in-person) will be noted for each session date, so members can choose what works best for them.

Benefits
- Direct Access to Leadership:
Members gain valuable face time with board leaders, fostering mentorship relationships and expanding professional networks.
- Stronger Chapter Connections:
By participating in these sessions, members can build deeper ties within the NYWICI community, enhancing collaboration and support.
- Knowledge Sharing and Growth:
The program encourages the exchange of insights, experiences, and best practices, supporting both individual and collective professional growth.
In summary:
This program is designed to be flexible, inclusive, and highly responsive to member needs. By rotating hosts and offering both virtual and in-person options, NYWICI ensures that mentorship is accessible and impactful for all members. The focus on meaningful, personalized interactions sets this initiative apart as a valuable resource for career development and community building.
